Regulation of ATG protein expression has also been reported in T-cells. Following TCR
engagement, LC3 expression is upregulated in T helper cells through a yet unknown
mechanism that appears to act at a posttranscriptional level [40]. Furthermore, the Beclin1 promoter is targeted by NFκB to induce Beclin1 expression in activated Jurkat cells [49]. How changes in the expression of ATG proteins may affect the overall regulation of
macroautophagy in T-cells remains to be determined.
